Camping North Inlet

Does anybody know if you can camp on North Inlet? Capers Island is booked solid for camping this weekend and I’m looking for an alternative place on the beach for primitive camping. Any help would be appreciated!

I have thought that it would be cool to camp on the beach past the jetties to the north of WB. Don’t know the legalities, and I have seen 500lb wild boar over there so I’m not sure bout all of that.

I’ve seen others do it, but don’t know legalities of it.

If I am not mistaking, no one is allowed on north island unless on an approved tour

i believe north island has a wilderness designation. it is controlled by yawkey and there has been a no camping policy as long as i remember. of course you can go on the beaches as anywhere in SC if you can get there legally. baruch used to let people on the south end of debidue but they recently posted it it to not allow camping. houseboat would seem the only legal possibility at this point. not sure about a hammock in the surf zone. i always wanted to string one up in one of those oaks standing in the surf and fish a high tide from the back but never got around to it. yet.
