This question has been addressed before, but I couldn’t find anything more recent than a 2012 query. Are you allowed to legally pitch a tent and camp on Morris, specifically on the Ft. Sumpter side? Was hoping to post up there at some point this weekend and get a full day in come dawn.

I’m afraid its not permitted. We used to camp there back in the 90’s, but I hear enforcement picked up given the party scene Morris became over the past few years.
That being said, I bet nobody would bug you if you posted up on the lighthouse inlet side.

There’s plenty of other places to legally camp and you probably won’t have much fun camping on MI on Saturday. The wind will be bad.
Try Cat Island in the Wando, just past 41. I see people camping there all the time.
