Camping on this islands

I was thinking about getting a kayak and camping on some islands, behind sullivans island ect, is this legal? like little goat island, ect. can you have fires out there?

Believe so, I know several people who camp on uninhabitated islands.

Keep it simple

The spoil island on Little Goat happens to be under purchase contract, and is private. So is the big one across Hamlin creek(Private), and not sure what DNR would say if you do not have written permission. I have hunted several similar islands over the years, but have been run off them in the last several years. Seems like every island has someone’s name on it these days, so best to look for the owner to give permission. Capers is nice, for instance, and you just need a camping permit thingy…

Catch it mid moon phase and stay below high water mark, you might have some land owner argue, but as long as your under the High water mark your within your rights. All water under the high water mark is public land with a few exceptions mostly in New-England states.

Might want to give DNR a call and ask about the fire thing, they can also point you to some good destinations if you get the right person on the phone.

When the human race dies out it will
be because it was brainwashed to be
so totally, completely, utterly safe
that it no longer dared to keep on living.

there are many all up and down the ICW from Ben Sawyer beyond Capers.Set up on the backside, and most folks don’t have a clue you are there.Pick a time when low tide is mid day.I suggest going when its cold, the bugs can be terrible.

Cool I hope we don’t get any of those Yankee laws
