As a kid my father use to take me out to an island out across from angels landing. I’m planning on a trip at the end of the month to go back and try it out. I’m prodominently a saltwater guy now and rarely get up to the lakes anymore unless its to catfish… Can anyone give advice as to what the bass “should” be doing during that time of the year? Prespawn, spawn, post spawn? Is the water dirty, high, etc… what depth should I try to target to have the best chance at catching em? Any help is greatly appreciated! !

Think those islands are WMA now, and don’t allow camping. There is a camping area across from Angel’s landing that is on the mainland of Sandy Beach WMA though that does…
Oo ok, yea I’m going up this sunday just to do a fly by and scope things out… does anybody know the proper steps it takes to find out if camping is allowed or not?? Is that in the dnr book or online? I wouldn’t even know who to call?? Thank you for the heads up, like I said its been many years since I’ve been out there so any advice is helpful. A good camping trip can turn very bad, very fast w a bad visit from the gamewarden…

Call Santee Cooper and ask who you need to talk to. They actually own the islands.
Olde Man Charters
Search: Sandy Beach WMA. The camp site there is boat accessible. It’s just not on an island, but on the mainland. Probably can be seen on Google Maps…
