1995 Johnson 88spl
Wouldn’t start, no spark at any plug.
Battery/starter working well, spinning strong.
Pulled the power pack off so I could get to the connection from the charge coil to the power pack. Both pins of charge coil connector showed infinite resistance = good charge coil, 'should be making power.
Reconnected connector to power pack and remounted it.
Motor fired on first revolution. Runs like a champ (on a garden hose).
The question: what fixed it? Can a power pack be flaky? Maybe the ground between the power pack and block was bad/weak and my remove/remount of it impproved the ground?
I’m glad it is running. Just wish I knew what I fixed.
