called the DNR office and the nice lady on the phone said --i dont know -what lake are you fishing in to catch two limits?–(i swear that was her answer [:0])- but can we have two limits in the boat with a 10 yr old and myself fishing? dont see anything about this in the regs. book
thanks i have been wondering about this for a while-and yes he will be very actively participating in all aspects of fishing -i’ve taught him well- he can do it all from tieing on hooks to taking off fish -all i have to do is drive the boat -not planning on catching 2 limits but its nice to know we legally can
If the GW sets up and watches you catch more than your limit, he can still write you a ticket even thought two are in the boat. That is, IF he saw you catch more than your limit.

Each person fishing can have a limit of fish. If you catch more than your limit, you can only get a ticket if you keep more than the limit. Throw 'em back alive and keep fishing.
Or better yet, teach your ten year old to respect the resource, throw back most of what you catch, and just keep a few. Enjoy your time with him, he’ll be grown up and out of the house before you can blink your eyes.
I’m calling BS on the GW watching thing!(Crappie). The Game book says 30 fish per(PER) person limit. Not When you (YOU) catch 30 take the kid’s home! My daughter fishes with me every time I go. We respect limits, but sometimes I’m so busy, re-baiting and, untangling, I forget to count how many I’m ahead. Morgan quickly reminds me, that she’s at least 10 ahead of me!! JMHO!! Seeya, Scott
