Cant run wot. Fixed

Brand new perfect 50 1 Pennzoil 2 stroke mix and direct to engine fuel line. Ran about a mile normal wot and I slowed down to spin around and then it wouldn’t plain off like it was overloaded. The only questionable part involving the fuel system is I ziptied the line from pump to carb. I pulled the spark plug cap off the top to make sure both cylinders were running and got shocked and the cylinder cut off but the bottom was still running. I m assuming the cylinders are not the issue. My plugs look a little different from each other though. I putted back to the landing and let it idle for a while. Idles perfect and cranks first pull

I’d bet youre sucking air around that fuel line with the zip-tie. did you try pumping your primer bulb and seeing if that helped?

Johnson 9.9 and I tried pumping the ball it made know difference.

Head gasket

those plugs look WET with fuel and oil.
when diagnosing a problem, I only know how to do it one way.
start at the begging and work your way through it.
always start with a compression test. no matter how good it ran before, it has the problem now, now is when you need to know compression.
then check spark.
then add fuel under load.

So I took the carb off and cleaned it and then added a screw tight hose clamp where the fuel pump attaches to the carb where the zip tie was. I ran her for 44 minutes 11.5 miles and an average speed of 16 which is when I feel it is revved about 80 percent to the max. Did several stop and goes and it ran and felt better than ever and had no issues at wot. Carbs are so finicky. I cleaned them before and I screwed the wrong side tight first and didn’t get adequate counter pressure on the hard to reach side and it wouldn’t idle but would run wot. So a small error and your clean carbs can kill wot or idle. I’ve never had a carb issue with any other 2 stroke just boats.

Thanks to the comments and similar post. I’m thinking themechanic was right and Chris V when ever I run into a issue I cant take care of I’m gonna go to Charleston Marine 100% and will recommend y’all to others just for the simple fact your always on here helping.

Those plugs might of been extra wet because it was just idling in the yard right before and I can’t remember if I ran the fuel out/dry before or after I pulled them.

THANKS, BUT UNFORTUNAELY WE DO NOT WORK ON OMC OR MERCURY, BUT I WILL GLADLY OFFER YOU WHATEVER HELP I CAN, HERE AT CHARLESTON FISHING.
ALSO, PLUGS SHOULDNT EVER BE WET, IDLING OR NOT.
MEANS ITS RUNNING RICH OR NOT FIRING PROPERLY.
SOUNDS LIKE A CARB ISSUE, AND IT WAS PROBABLY RUNNING RICH AT IDLE, AND LEAN AT wot
ADJUSTING AND SYNCHRONIZING CZRBS CAN BE ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT THINGS TO LEARN, BUT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE GETTING IT UNDER CONTROL.
