Cape Horn Boats 17/19

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone on here owns or knows of any 2002 or newer Cape Horn 17 or 19’s that I could take a look at. I’ve done a lot of reading about them and am really interested, but wanted to take a look at them in person before taking the ext step.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty low end boat. Like bottom of the barrel for fiberglass boats. No cap, just splatter hull. Not sure, but I think they are a lot like Palm Beach boats. If I’m thinking of the wrong boats, I apologize in advance.

your fing kidding me hoppy… cape horn are a staple in commercial/charter cptns in the panhandle and gulf coast… they are straight tanks… they are top teir boats that are frequently compaired to yellowfin, seavee in build quality… go bang on a pioneer/scout ect ect or any other boat you see than go bang on a cape horn you will about break your hand with how thick the glass work is…

depending on model your looking at the hull change is always considered a 2004 item. pre 04 the main concern is the polly tanks.

the 24 os/sx are considered the dry ride boats…
the 27t is considered to be a wet ride

not much is really put out about the 19ft-21ft but are still built the same as the os/sx

allot of the guys like to go single fish box up front over the twin box lid(yes it does make difference

if your really just wanting to step on a boat that is similar the palm beach is similar… otherwise a few guys on the cape horn fb page have been posting about 19-21ft… a few have recently repowered with zukes are are playing with prop pitch and blade they can give you allot more help on the topic and know the boat in and out.

Say what:question: Cape Horns are built like a tank. I’ve surveyed and sea trialed a few of them and I was impressed. True, nothing fancy, just good solid boats.

Now I’m really confused.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

My bad. Sorry. I just looked and I was thinking of another boat. Those look like really nice boats. I thought I recalled them being a splatter hull, no cap boat, with a big proud bow. Maybe my feeble mind was combining the Palm Beach and Cape Horn into the same boat. Obviously they aren’t.

Hoppy, not to worry, at our age we do miss a call every now and then, or at least get accused of missing it. You have probably passed on as much useful information, in both your past and current membership here as anyone. At least you can always count on your Mom to keep you on the straight and narrow path. Now if you would just start putting up a few cooking tutorials again…

HOPPY
YOU ARE NOT CONFUSED
THE SMALL CAPE HORNS ARE INDEED NO LINER/CAP SPATTER FINISH HULLS WITH A BIG BOW SIMILAR IN APPERANCE TO PALM BEACH.
THE DIFFERENCE IN THE 2 IS BUILD QUALITY

Thanks Chris. Regardless - I am confused! About lots of stuff!

Thanks everybody! Does anyone know anybody with a 17 or 19 in the charleston area?

I have seen a Cape Horn 16 being pulled around by a minivan on Coleman blvd before. But that’s the only one (other than the big ones) that I have seen in the area.

Thanks again!

we have one here that is a customers we are working on, but you are welcome to come by and look at it

Was yours all fiberglass(had they switched at that point) or was it a cored hull?
