“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
The fishing is great in all the creeks around the island. Drop your wife off on the island for the sun and fish the rest of the day. Make sure u have plenty of shrimp.
thanks everyone, sounds like Im gonna have a good time.from the maps iv looked at theres plenty of creeks to fish.do you thank its better at low tide or high.and how is it getting around the creeks and waterways at low tide.anything I should be aware of.Thanks again
Make sure you pay attention to the tide. If you have the time try to plan a trip at low lide to know where everything is. Pay attention to creek mouths and structure the trout and reds have been thick
was out there a couple weeks ago. if you head past the island you will see an off limits island (bird sanctuary) if you head to the right there is a massive sandbar that gets covered by a few inches of water on high tide. parked the boat and fished it at sunset and caught 2 nice fat reds, a mess of croakers, and hooked one massive mystery shark
its on the side of capers adjacent to bulls island… not the IOP side
its worth a shot out there. there are lots of cool little creeks back in the marsh side. if anything def take a boat ride back there. unbelievably beautiful viewing
o.k.Im definitly going to fish the back waters and creeks ok capers island.and bull island.any suggestions on were to launch, and to buy bait.thanks so much for all the help.
