Well I’ve thrown in the towel on fixing the AC on my xterra myself. Can anyone reccomend somewhere that will give me a straight analysis with no shady business?

Had an Altima that had a sensor problem, recharged it, checked it, check it again, turned out to be a common problem, bad sensor in the evaporator. Easy swap with chopsticks. ← not a typo!
