Carfax???

My oldest is looking for a new (used) car and has found what he is looking for however, it looks too good to be true. It is a 2011 with only 22,690 miles on it. I guess what got my radar going (besides the super low miles) is that the car came from New Jersey. Not that being from Jersey is in and of itself bad but, they had floods and they salt the roads so…

It has a “clean” Carfax but, what does that really mean?

It means nothing has been reported to an insurance company.

Look at the frame. If rusted bad pass. I wouldnt buy a northern car

Not always, I’ve had a couple of vehicles that I have had accidents in and when I traded them in nothing showed on carfax. I asked someone and they mentioned that if I had gone to a dealer body shop it would have been reported.

No time to go look at it right now anyway so…

Bought a truck with 20,000 miles on it. Had some warranty work done on it about a year after. The mechanic told me who ever fixed it did a good job you wouldn’t know about the major front end damage except for one broken radiator bracket. The car fax was clean. I’ve put 120,000 more on it and luckily hasn’t been an issue.
