Great day on the water today with the legendary Russ Cason of IOP marina fame. Fished in 200’ in the 100’s for the majority of the day. Looked for wahoos most of the day, found 4, caught 1. We had steady action with the maui wowies and ended up w/ 14 keepers. Stopped on the way in and put a nice grouper in the box and a bunch of sea bass. Let go several jacks and some less endangered red porgys. Mouth of the jettys was sporty this AM, but it laid down real nice. Back at it on Sunday.
PS Its official… there is no better food than wahoo sashimi. Its just that good. Tuna is for the birds if you can eat wahoo…
who knew?
Wahoo is good sashimi, but don’t forget the soy sauce otherwise it’s a little metallic tasting.
Congrats on the good day D, I’ll prolly see you out there Sunday.
CD – nice work. I do concure-wahoo is where its at.
George Carlin said it best, ‘Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half of them are stupider than that’’.
Hey Carla Dee! How’s that 14 ft. “Tub” treating you with the 15 mariner? Getting good use out of it, I hope.
See ya,man
The tub is running fairly strong! A few little issues, but she’s doing okay. She got a little paint job… you will have to stop by and see her.
I think it’s insulting to refer to the Carla Dee as a “14 ft Tub”.
She is at least 23’ long.
I wouldn’t do an overnighter 90 miles out on a 14 footer.
Dad purportedly fished the other 14’ sloop out 25 miles. Hard to believe, but he isn’t one to exaggerate…
Greg - perhaps we should do it just so we know how he used to roll???
Way back when…tell your Dad I said hello, give him a hug for me…good man, and your Mom also.
Will do, Fran. Thanks for thinking of them… dad had a blast on a little bottom trip w/ us last wknd. He worked over the triggers and pinkies like a spring chicken.
“I think it’s insulting to refer to the Carla Dee as a “14 ft Tub”.”
From Greg1
Greg, I’m not referrring to his off shore boat; I sold him my 14’ Duracraft to play in the creeks with.
Just FYI - you guys take care!
