Sounds like a lot of boats had great days on the water today. The bait, maui’s, and billfish have definitely all arrived. Tons of flyers from 50’ to 1500’. Fished w/ Striker Kevin “The Bruiser” and The New Dr. Leopard. Busy day… Didn’t do much on the ledge for the first two hours… then had a fish spin the reel with tenacity… dumped over 1/2 of a 50W w/ 22lbs of drag in about 20 seconds and then gone… sliced leader… guess it was a shark attack from a decently grown mako… then saw a juvie sail finning and swung the baits on him… AWESOME teaser bite… he windshield wipered the flat 4 times and I more than struck out. Hook apparently got buried in the bait after one of the bites… fed him and came taught all 4 times but nada. Fish was 15-20lbs, very neat little bite. Ran out to the deep and found the weedline offshore of the 226 running inshore/offshore. Maui Wowies were everywhere. Caught 6 or 8 of them on witches w/o bait just for the fun of it. Cedar plug on the flat was on fire. Teaser bite after teaser after teaser bite…

Had 2 more shark attacks and then tried bottom dropping on the ledge for a while. Had two grown bottom dwellers rock us up and break us off. Ended the day with 2 shark attacks, one lost grown sea creature, and 19 keeper Maui’s w/ 4 over 25, biggest 30lbs. The New Dr. Leopard had a lid dropped on his foot and had a keeper hematoma just under the size of a tennis ball… he hung strong but we were a man down for some of the day…

Congrats to those that got the sticks… heard Newt had a few sails and blue marlin by 11. Nice day on the water.

Yea I think I got a mouth full of several species this week. Next time im not going to eat so much and save some for you. Charleston is a buffet when it comes to fishing, so much better than the fishing up on lake hartwell, even though I’m pulling the same baits…I guess thats why its called fishing and not catching. I heard about your good day, congrats. I wish I coulda seen the fish that would have spooled you. That’ll be the day.
