The Maui’s were thick today. Most folks got their fill of them. We sealed the box at 10:30 w/ 25 keeper maui wowies… tried for something bigger to no avail. Filp flops and slingers continued to molest the big rigs… got a few around 30lbs. The weedlines were everywhere. Get out there and catch you some.
Stopped on the ledge and got a little garoupa and a few other dwellers. Got rocked up three times by grown fellas. Need to figure something out to keep them out of the reef… back at again on Tuesday if not before. Weather was nice… a little swell on the way out and a nice little cruise in on the homebound leg.
Oh yeah, we fished inshore of the 380 never deeper than 320’. Lure of the day was anything that got wet. Fishes were all over the teasers… fighting over them, three, four at a time. One pulled at least 100yds of drag on the squid chain… thought we might get him but he swam to feedom.

just got off the phone w/ capt. hollingsworth. he is trying to get me to run to cape is. in the a.m. for some surf fishing. his stomach problems still exist but he is off the mtn. dews and wendy’s burgers. fishing the risky business for the cannon’s. other than that he is well. those were the good old days islander. good thing those walls can’t talk.we would all be in trouble.
johnny - tell hollywood to let me know if he is going to venture out for an overnighter… and let me know if you want to get out catch some fush over the next few weeks… unemployed for a while, life if good.
old squeezebox played at the hook on thursday, couldn’t help but thinking of the old beach house… the boys are still rocking out on those horns.

Fran - my dad really appreciates you saying hello. He is upset w/ me b/c I don’t like the way the ocean looks for him tomorrow… now is the only time I would like the big boat w/ the AC - but hopefully we will get a good weather day in the next week or two and I can get him out in the deep. Hope I’m still doing it in my 80s on the CD…
Ben - let’s hope the fishing stays hot. I’m headed back after it tomorrow. We are going to try and do a little combo trip and get on the bottom dwellers good. We will see. Give me a call on Wednesday and we will make a plan.
