Calm ocean bumped up a little in the warmer water on the ride out. Hoped in behind the Over Run for a tow out. Thanks for the ride, guys. Fun day of fishing with the Stone brothers and we had Hank join us who had wanted to split a charter on the Risky Business, but he wasn’t able to find anyone so we had him ride along in the little boat. Like Runey said, the ocean was dead at the GTH. Fished everywhere - inshore, the hole, out to 1000ft, not much. Flew the kite for a while as well. Ended the day w/ 9 Maui Wowies all but 1 were 20lbs and 1 was just over 30lbs.

Congrats to the folks on the over run who caught a double header of sails. Talked to some other buddies who got on the mauis, kings, and grouper way south. Heard some tuna reports from there as well.

Oh yeah, congrats to Hank for getting his first dolphin, the big dolphin, and several more all on the 30s. I think he is ready for a good blue marlin to test his skills. We also had three great teasers bites that we all were able to enjoy and then switch to the hook.

And congrats to Eric for his pretty work on the tuna that got eaten by the foul hooked maui. I owe you that $10.

wind was a out of the ENE. something about that NE direction that fish don’t like. big moon too.not the best combo. but ya gotta when you can go! better luck next time daniel. how is full moon fishing for blue’s? i have heard in the bahamas/carribean it’s better. what gives?

not sure about the NE wind… I know that I definitely don’t like it. I would never run to the GTH in the NE intentionally - but the wind was “light and variable” for the first 40 miles, but as soon as we hit the warm water/current it chopped up pretty bad. It was NE on Tuesday and we absolutely crushed them to the south, as did BG and Runey yesterday. And I saw a snapper boat lifting nice gags and assorted dwellers over the side pretty regularly yesterday afternoon at the sw banks on the ledge… st thomas definitely fishes the moon as well… where most other places think it slacks the fishing. perhaps it has something to do w/ breeding? Sure would be nice to know… monday of this week was an epic billfish day for Eddie and John on the Sea Fox and there were a good many seen…

CD you can’t leave out that the largest was a bionic spinning dolphin, surviving 2 gaffmen, several gaff shots, and even jumping out of the fish box before it was finally subdued.

Congrats to OVER RUN on their sails.

Schoolboy - I thought that we had agreed to not disclose that embarrassing moment… wow… almost felt bad keeping that maui after all that we had been through together…

Yeah, I had one of those last week… sucked, too, 'cause my college buddies were with me. I think I missed that ■■■■ fish three or four times before they started ragging me, and then missed him twice more and decided to sling him. He promptly came off the hook and beat the cockpit to death. [:I] (But ended up in the box!)

Thanks to CD for a great day out yesterday The bionic Maui was pretty fun. Great fun even though was a slow day and many thanks to all the crew for the tips on techniques and all the insights that only come thru years of experience!! Thanks again and keep in touch

Glad you have been getting on them Daniel. Talked to a friend in MI last weekend, after pulling baits and doing very well, they dropped lines deep and got into some nice snowy grouper. You been doing anything on the bottom. I am off next week and would love to get out there if you got a spot.Talk to you soon.GS

Beanz - glad you were able to fish with us. She is no Risky Business, but the CD can hold her own. Schoolboy knows how to get it done, so you were able to see the best in action. Hopefully I can get up in 2 hours and brave the storm on the RB.

Daze - Give me a call. I am going to try and go Wednesday and then probably fish the 50/50 on some boat. Maybe we will get lucky and we can defend the win from the last time I fished that tournament. I haven’t gotten any snowys, but I’ve only dropped DEEP once, nothing to show.
