Great fathers day. Dad is amazing. Fished w/ dad, midgie, kristmas katie, and uncle john. Saw some amazing dance moves from midgie and some technical shotgunning from uncle johnny. kristmas katie put on a show w/ the mauis. she grabbed, struck, and wound on the trophy maui of the day, as well as some expert technique on her first billfish. not a bad showing for her first bluewater expedition. finished w/ 10 mauis, two were to be proud of, released one that a blue marlin apparently spit out (around 15 pounds), and had a flip flop get eaten by an adult wowie. That was the National Geopgraphic moment of the day. Also caught a sailing fish and a mercury missle.
All of us (except for dad) took katie for a nice swim at the IOP docks. She wound like a pro on her first billfish. Partied like a rockstar the entire ride home; however, my dance moves need to be updated w/ the likes of midgie and uncle john’s.
Thanks to dad for everything. His passion is an inspiration to everyone. If we make it out there in our 80s it will be a sight to behold. One can only hope. Thanks for picking such a great vessel; who knew we would be fishing it almost 30 years later. Happy dad’s day to all… great memories. Couldn’t have had more fun if we had tried.
CD, saw you guys coming into the marina flying a flag, congrats but beware of the turdfish in the marina!! Oh yeah, it takes a man to cruise around with an inflatable bull on the boat:smiley:
Beanz - Glad to hear that you are going to get the boat wet again. Give me a call on Friday if you want and you are welcome to head out in the same direction w/ us.
RR - It may take a man to ride around w/ it on the boat, but it is a real daymaker to see a little quail ride that bull… one of my best purchases to date.
