I just got a DLX 1765 and I am mounting a minn kota saltwater trolling motor on the bow. Wanted to get a few opinions on placement. The skiff has bow rails on both sides on the front deck so I could just mount the trolling motor in the middle of the deck and put a removal bracket under it for when i didnt want to use it. Another option would be cut part of the bow rail on one side and mount the trolling motor on the side so its not right in the middle of the deck. What do yall think? thanks
My friend in NC has a 19’ Skiff and has his mounted to the left (to port) of the bow light. It works well there, but they had to shim the back of the mounting base with treated lumber to account for that “roll” on the bow.
