Carolina Style Flats Build

Great looking boat. That’s some serious talent. Nice work and keep the pics coming.

Seafox 187CC

Do you think you will make to the Geogetown Boat Show ?

Jack of all trades but master of none

weeman, im not to familiar with the Gtown show. How does it compare to Charleston in size? I will look into it.

Here are a few pics of some of the interior rigging, stainless rubrail, recessed trim tabs, and dry fitting the teak floor and toe rail. Cant wait to get these console and engine pictures up soon.

SICK!

awsom paint job! Do you use a HVLP? Is the paint Urithane or epoxie?
I live in the upstate would love to tour you shop some time!

boatpoor-

The paint is polyurethane based. It was sprayed with a “Devilbiss” HVLP. The preferred spray equipment for the applicator would be the RP style gun, however that type of equipment is becoming increasingly hard to find and costly. Also environmental regulators much prefer the HVLP.

VOTE DEMOCRATIC ITS EASIER THAN GETTING A JOB!

Here are some pics from the weekend. Biggest accomplishments were installing the console, getting on the trailer, and a bunch and I mean bunch of small jobs. Boat leaves for poling platform Tuesday. We will get it back Friday and have about a day of work left before we sea trial it Sunday!

P.S. The pics of the boat outside give the true color of the boat. Not as bright as the inside pics from the fluorescent lights.

That console sure has come a long way from the styrofoam block. amazing!!! And the yellow looks a whole lot better outside the shop.
Thanks for sharing and keep the pics coming!

JKI4405,

Is that a carbon fiber backing on the back of your switches on your console? If so did you make that or buy it? Looking for something similar. Thanks

It is carbon, I had a local buddy make it that has a carbon shop. He just gave me a 15" square and I cut it out.

After reviewing this entire build-up, I really admire your craftmanship on this boat. All the hard work really shows. She looks flawless.

Thanks guys! Tonight we installed the engine. We used the UFlex steering system on this boat. By far nicest steering components in my opinion. Boat is getting the poling platform fabricated over the next few days. Cant wait to hit the water this Sunday!

This has been one cool thread. So how many man hours do you have in it so far?

Got a buyer for it or will this be for you?

Hope your sea trial goes well!

I know this is gonna be a stupid question and some moron will put his two cents worth in, but why did you use dual lever controls.

One lever is the gear shift and one lever is the throttle. It’s an old carolina thing!

I was about to ask the same thing!

I have not been back since mid-page three. OMG – the finish is AMAZING!!! I wish I could ditch my little flats boat for this thing… Only if I lived closer, could I justify it.

The ONLY thing I wish it included was a windshield with a grab bar. I, personally, don’t understand why EVERY “small” CC isn’t fitted with such a thing.

Again, personal opinion. But it adds a great safety factor and degree of comfort on cooler mornings, or rain, or terrible batch of bugs.

And…AS YOU KNOW – fantastic job! I’m so envious, it isn’t even funny! BTW – what’s your age? I’m just curious.
