Hey guys, Ive been using these rods made out of Pittsboro NC, Cashion Customs they are called. I have been in talks with the owner to develop a Kayak series rod. As of now we are talking about adding a ring to tie a tether to and also trying to get them to float. Any other suggestions or interest in these? I use his stuff for my bass tournaments but he himself is really big into saltwater and offers a great line of rods.
A rods that floats a 3000 spinning reel would be nice. Okuma came out with a kayak friendly rod a few years ago… not a ton of interest at that time and I think they’ve dropped the line.
Most people like a shorter than normal butt section. Hopefully this will generate some discussion.

Definetly, its awesome having such a great rod built so close to home! These blanks are designed by Matt Cashion himself, they are NOT other companies blanks jazzed up. I need your input!

Nice rods for $200.
Just bought an Okuma EVX IM8 6’6" mh/f? short split handle maybe 7.5" spinning rod ,lifetime otc warranty for $90. Tommy, is this what you were talking about? Not much more than your Reflexions and better warranty.
I will watch that web site for info on the kayak rod.
Some of their retailers are significantly less than the site itself, this protects each region with setting a MAP price. There is a big difference in actions when it comes to price. If you take a 90$ okuma up against this, the okuma may have a decent tip but it won’t have the same rigidness on the bottom end. Ive fished with st croix legend elites, loomis Glx rods and my cashion is as good or better in regards to weight, action and warranty and a fraction of the price…Not to mention these are American made…

Bill The EVX is a nice rod for 90 bucks. When I bought the Reflexions they were lifetime warranty, changed this year
FishOn06 - I haven’t fished a Cashion rod, but I have Okumas, St Croix, and Loomis right now. The Okuma is the best budget rod around IMHO. Is there a retailer that carries Cashion close by? I’d like to check them out.

Right now now no, he is in talks with The Charleston Angler and Southern Drawl in Hilton Head. Most of his dealers are in NC and VA, I’ve been trying to get the word out on the SC shore! If you get a free day to fish hit me up, we can work something out
Im sure you got trips this weekend but im off.
I work at Lake Wylie Bait and Tackle, we are a dealer and retail them for $159.
Im not knocking on any rods, but you guys know as well as i do, you get what you pay for in fishing gear. The only Okuma rod I have messed with is the Citrix, the components seem very cheap for a $100+ rod. I will say this, The Avenger reel series USED to be the best real ever made for under $30, not sure if things have changed they still seem solid.
