Cast net for bait without a boat

Hey guys. Trying to find an easily accessible spot to cast for bait. I only really fish in the surf so I’m hoping to find somewhere on the way out to folly/iop/Sullivan’s. I live downtown and have heard that the tidal pond across Lockwood drive from the marina is usually full of bait. Anyone else heard this?

I have never figured out where to park to get into the lake at Lockwood.

However, Colonial lake is usually an easy place to park and sling a net. I’ve found mullet, mud minnows, and even surprising amounts of menhaden in there. This is the lake between Ashley Ave and Rutledge.

Moral judgment under girds the entire structure of laws and is necessary for the rational structure of any significant statute. The idea that our laws can stand independent of moral foundation is senseless.----- Albert Mohler.

I think your over-complicating it… just look for tidal creeks and salt ponds you can see from the road, go out at low tide have a look around… if there’s enough water throw your net! My favorite is on the way out to folly beach, and you can see it directly from the road!

If you get the beach around low tide you should see bait in the places where water gets trapped when the water is out or around rocks swimming around or like at sullivans where the water is going out like a creek on the beach. Youll see the swimming bait on top of the water like little bumps on the water moving. I may not describe it good but once you can recognize it youll always know what mullet look like swimming. I always find bait at the beach and rarely take bait with me. good luck.
