I’m new to the area and was wondering if anyone could tell me a good area on IOP or Folly where I can throw a cast net for mullet/bait.
This time of year I would buy bait. There is a little dirt landing on the back side of Sullivans Island that doesn’t have too many snags. People throw nets on either side of Folly Road at the Barrel Bar.
Throwing a net from land can be tricky because of all of the other crap that people throw in the water at these spots.
If you go to a spot, don’t just go and blindly throw your net. Chances are, you will lose it. Go at dead low tide, mark the locations of oysters and riprap. If you get your net stuck, please don’t leave it there.
