Cat fishing at Moultrie

Picked up few cats today. Bite was slow but we managed a few. Bird hunters were shooting cormorants there by short stay, didn’t mind until bird shot started landing in my boat, and when I have a 4 yr old in the boat that just ain’t cool! So we moved.

What was the bait of choice?? I didn’t know people were allowed to shoot cormorants and why would they want to?

Thanks for yore support!!

I was out fishing the tailrace that day and we heard them shooting them all day. They started allowing them to hunt them within the last couple of years. They eat a lot of what the fish eat so they allow them to be hunted to balance the cycle out

If they 're eating a lot of good bait then kill them all IMO but I
have noticed a lot of the time they are sitting on or near bait pods.
Might learn a little from them!!!:smiley::smiley:They are a pain in the arse though, don’t really know how to feel about them. Shooting at them high (ok) low shooting at em (not ok).
