Me, the Baron, Scotty-2-Hotty, and Phil headed out Fri am at 7 am- went strait out. very smooth ride. Figured we go straight to our number then decide whether to go N or S. Got to out spot and found some scattered weed. trolled S on the line and it was pretty steady action had a couple triple knockdowns. weed thinned, we turned and trolled back to our starting point. Secret weapon was every time ‘the Baron’ tried to fire up his stogie, the reels would go off. Super teaser was at work again - had em all over it - We’d pop a line out of a clip and feed it back. Lot of fun angling on the fish. bridled nekked baits on cirlce hooks. Last fish was a blood tanker. didnt know a fish could hold so much blood. called it a day and headed in early. 9 for 12 on the maui maui.
Dropped the crew off and headed to the marina to gas and clean up. Had a nice dinner of cold chicken with a side of advil and slept on the bote. Next crew arrived at 6 sat am. Heavy-D, Dan, and Sonny Boy. Heavy-D was nice enough to bring me a chicken sandwich for breakfast. loaded up and headed straight out again. seas were bumpy going out. started in 125 expecting the same action. nadda. pulled for awhile with no action. reeled in and headed out deeper. kept working deeper, day getting long. finally found some nice weedline in 300-350 had a few dolphin look but no hookups - had several short hits. did catch a AJ on the way-back. young crew worked hard and stayed focus. left the bote at the marina and drove home. two good days to be on the water - tired of chicken.
