Left lexington at 4:30, left Remely’s at 7:00. plowed thru some thick fog for most of the way out. ran the wahoo rigs after we hit the ledge around 9:00 , then switched over to the spread just before SW Banks. Pulled for an hr before any action. We had a micro dolphin chew on a bait but too small to hook up. pulled out toward GTH to join the floatilla. around 1:00 or so, west of the hole had a knockdown on the right short rigger - got off, then look over and see bills all over the ‘super-teaser’ had 3 bills in the spread. dropped back a bait, couldnt get em off the teaser, dropped back another - hooked up. First sailfish for me and the boat . nice aerial display. released boatside - Daymaker! caught on a bridled ballyhoo w/ a circle hook - nice release, no damage done.
an hr later catch a small tunnie, and around 2:00 found a bunch of tuna bustin but couldnt make em bite. worked the school with another boat for 30 min - no luck.
A beautiful day out there - too laid down. very few fliers. rode in at 40.
