hey ya’ll,
could anyone give me some advice on what to look for as good areas to catch shrimp for bait. i’m taking my boy out wednesday for his birthday and i want to get some fresh bait as the stuff i have has seen better days. i normally hit up small creek mouths and muddy banks but can never catch more than a dozen or so after a 1/2 hour or more of slingin’ the net. i don’t want your spot just the type of habitat to look for. i’m headed out tomorrow for a bait run so the sooner the better. thanks in advance.
It’s a little early for me to cast net shrimp. I usually hit up Haddrell’s this time of year for live shrimp.

Agreed with Too Busy, but if you would want to catch them later on in the summer. Find a creek at low tide and usually works for me.
fish nude so u can show off ur pole…
I don’t know if this will help, depending on the areas you fish. But, Wadmalaw sound had plenty of good sized shrimp. I caught a couple dozen in just a few poorly thrown nets. That was at the mouth of a small creek at low tide.
There are plenty of bait sized shrimp in the rivers right now. Throw the net in the mouths of small feeder creeks as the water is draining out 2 hours or less before the low.
