Does anyone have any tips on catching bait during the day time for stripper with a cast net? I know guys catch it at night with the lights…but i have no light.

Today at the dam you could have caught as many as you could possibly want. they were pact from the ramp out as far as you could see. It is hit or miss though. Later in the summer you can catch them at the towers mid day with a sabiki rig. Just mark the schools of bait on the FF and drop the sabiki down. You can also throw the net in at night around lights.
It may sound silly but I love catching herring at the towers on sabikis just as much as catching Stripers. I have the best luck usually around midday or so. The bait u catch drop straight back down and it will get hit before anything buy. The herring in the summer time will be huge and almost is always a keeper that eats them. Alot times you can feel the Striper rip them off as you are trying to bring them up. Some times they will get hooked and with a real light drag can get them in. So keep your drag backed off while doing it.
As far as no light; even the cheap floating headlight Wally world sells will bring them in. They also sell the cheap version of a submersible green light works well to. They will last most of the night with a good charged battery.
Koondog, here’s a post from last year showing a cheap way to get set up with some lights if you are wanting to try it. Just be sure to go with a 12V CFL bulb and not a standard type 12V bulb as they draw very little current and will not drain your battery near as quickly.
