Catching bait

Hi, coming down to buck hall for some thanksgiving weekend fishing. My question is , how difficult is if to find enough shrimp and mud minnows for bait. Don’t get down enough to know when everything moves out. Thanks

Over 250 reads and no one is willing to simply say , yes there are still shrimp and minnows inshore. (**(), ain’t asking to take a daughter to prom, just for a little help in having a decent fishing trip for a 7 14 and 16yr old

yes there are still shrimp and minnows inshore.

Thanksgiving holiday…people have other things to do than hang out on the internet!!

The creek that we live on has fewer and fewer shrimp lately. But there is still some and they are easiest to catch just after low tide.

Good luck and let us know how you did!!

Thanks guys

This time of year finding bait can be tricky, especially if you are not on the water much. It can take some time to find what you need.

Grab some frozen bait just in case or get some live bait from haddrells point tackle. When you are limited on time it’s usually more fun to just invest the extra money and buy the bait so that you can spend more time doing the fun stuff.

I’ve been off the water for a few weeks working on the boat, and I won’t be back out there for another week or two. By the time I get back out there it will take a while to find where the bait has gone.

Found plenty today. I brought frozen but didn’t need it…a few casts and plenty of minnows and shrimp.

We got down to buck hall and set up camp around noon and hit the water. Caught about 6 dozen and started fiahing. Ended up catching 10 reds 16-22 and a few undersized black drum.my niece shot first deer Friday and a successful first redfish trip all on the same weekend. It’s awesome, will post pics tomorrow
