Does anyone know of a place I could go to throw a cast net for a while and catch a few shrimp, without a boat that is. I have a friend that is in town for a little while and he refuses to get on a boat
where do u live? the area may decide the place…
years ago I used to go two different places and caught enough for a few meals… under the Cosgrove Bridge on hwy7, also known as NorthBridge
on the West Ashley side heading towards N.Chas I took that little road on the right, right before the bridge that runs under the bridge… I always fished and shrimped under the right side of the bridge, I see people doing it on the other side of the bridge all the time now…
there was a trout pro that used to come out there at night while I was shrimping, at almost high tide he would catch trout as fast as you can cast the line on grubs hooked on 1/4oz jigheads… when they turned off he would leave and try to beat the tide to his next spot, was pretty neat watching him do that… he said he traveled the east coast following the fish
anyway, the other spot is under the new limehouse bridge to the left side or even off of the new dock… it’s off of Main Rd. on Johns Is… go past Giliigans and over the bridge, as u come down off of the bridge the dock access is on your left… if u get to the traffic light you went too far
good luck and have fun! catch them on the incoming tide before the water hits the grass…

Are you looking for bait shrimp or eating shrimp? We were catching shrimp suitable for bait last weekend at Paradise Landing. Smaller than I like to fool with to eat but good enough for bait.
I live in Summerville, and I think he wants to catch shrimp to eat, but I would like to catch some bait
Where is paradise landing?
Up Hwy 17 N at the end of Chandler Road. We were catching bait shrimp standing at the landing.
They might not be the biggest but throw some soft cat/dog food on any salt water boat ramp after dark and you’ll get some shrimp.
