How do y’all catch cats this time of year? From what I gather the fishing can be really good. I live in the charleston area but was thinking about driving up to the tail race for a day or two to check it out.

For me this is a great time of year to catch big fish. I look for the deepest water I can find and fish the ledges, usually drifting with only one or two rods so I can adjust the depth quickly.
What kind of bait are you using?
I went to Edisto yesterday and stoped by that pier at the end of the bridge heading toward Edisto beach and caught some little Blue catfish in the Brackish water. Might be some big one out there. I was using shrimp. But in fresh waster use gizzard shad. Or cutbait of some sort.
