Caught 5 flounder, now need some help...

Caught some flounder on sullivans (only thing here that deals with fishing) and on the way home just after I crossed the connector I saw a tire flying down the road into the marsh. Didn’t think anything of it until I saw yesterday my spare tire is gone…I’ve never touched it and it just fell off while driving. My parents won’t let me bring it back to college until I find a spare, so does anyone know where I can find a cheap tire and rim to use as a spare for an 08 chevy silverado? Doesn’t need to be nice obviously, just need a spare rim and tire. Just email me at streiselrt@email.wofford.edu or call at 843-830-1978 if you can help.
Thanks,
Bobby S.

try blue and gold auto salvage.

22’ Mckee Craft

check your pm’s

What we have here is a failure to communicate!

any of the auto salvage yards will sell you a wheel and tire. Dons carcrushing was a doller per inch on the rubber …16" tire = $16.00, and then more for the rim.

I have 2 Progressive aluminum rims and tires that I have no use foe and have been moving them around my garage for years. You can have them if can come get them. PM me if you are interested.

I would think if you can afford to drive an 08 Silverado and attend Wofford that you would not need to stink up this forum with your begging. Something about this story stinks to high hell.

CLAMLAPPER,

I am hardly the one to post about a posters attitude in a reply.

The first thing I do upon seeing a response as yours is to check out their non-archived post history, as I did with you.

You have asked for assistance in the past on this site. You have even asked and then posted you didn’t want any “smart***” replies.

This young man works during the summers detailing boats for spending money. He travels to the customers location to do the work. He does good work.

His parents are good people, they raised a fine young man. I worked with his mother a few years ago and became acquainted with his father. They are both rock solid folks and I consider them good friends.

Bobby is a very good baseball player and attends Wofford on scholarship.

Bobby attends Wofford on an academic scholarship.

He was simply trying to save some money.

Just like you were awhile back when you asked for help finding an alternative head boat to the Thunderstar for a group you have and didn’t want to “break the bank”.

I hardly think Bobby was “begging” for anything. I know he didn’t “stink up” this forum.

Bobby, I can’t help you on this one, hope you find a deal.

OK, I’m over it now.

Clamlapper, I go to school for free because I busted my butt in the classroom. I am on all academic scholarship, didn’t need baseball money. The truck was a gift because its a hell of a lot cheaper than 4 years of wofford which would be $160,000. So yes, I am very lucky to be driving an 08 and in no way am I being one of those stuck up kids. I pay for everything I do and it is tough to go to school, play a sport, and work. It’s even harder this summer because i had shoulder surgery so haven’t been able to detail boats like I have done in the past. So yes, I do look for deals when I can because I don’t have much spending money. I have gotten all my tackle, rods and reels, gaff, costas, fighting belt…pretty much everything I have from people on this site helping me out. My topic said “need some help” so if u aren’t interested then don’t click on it. I hope I don’t grow up to be as miserable as you. I’m actually embarrassed for you. But thanks for the reply and bringing this back to the top for me.

Just curious, why not drive back and get it out of the marsh? Clean it off and hopefully good to go and one piece of trash lying in marsh…

Definitely a good question shevlin…haha but I have been back twice and couldn’t find it. I’m not sure exactly where it went in bc I wasn’t paying attention too much bc I didn’t think it was my tire, I just saw it in my mirror bouncing down the road and noticed a week later my spare was gone and then I remembered seeing that tire in my mirror. I walked that whole road 2 different times and coundnt find it…I know it sounds pretty stupid, just a pretty freak accident and bad luck haha

I went to Wofford, myself, in the 60’s and -though a lot of the students were from families that had more money than mine- many of the guys I knew ( it was all male, then) were not what would be considered rich, at least they didn’t act like they were. I made good friends there. I had to leave before I finished and ended up in the far east for about 13 months, and never returned to Wofford.

Good luck in finding your spare.

Wow usc guy…you really busted me…the nerve of me asking a fishing related question on a fishing related forum…what was I thinking??

Hey, if “no regrets” wants to beg for stuff he needs to put it on Craigs list. The whole “5 flounder” thing was nothing more than a cheap tease.

Sorry if I upset you…gotta go back to being miserable right now.

I continue to be amazed.

Me too?

“Caught two tarpon in the Ashley”…uh…by the way…could you send me some money?

I’ll vouch for Bobby, too. He’s a class act and works his a$$ off when he details a boat. His biggest asset is his humility. When he was at my house working on the Trailer Trash last fall, I was very impressed with him.

Bobby, if you need some help when you’re upstate, you let me know.

The more we just complain…the more things stay the same.
