I fished high tide from 8 ish to 1030ish, i would of liked to went at 5 or 6 am but i felt like sleeping in. I started my slow cruise toward the inlet to see if i could spot any action on top or birds. I saw some scattered guls just flying and 1 that was keyed on something. I headed toward him and he swooped down an a decent size fish broke the surface but o couldnt tell what it was. I shut off the engine and started my drift toward it. Just as i was passing it my small bait rod takes off and a fiah jumps out the water. Im hooked up and its running across the surface waking and breaking the surface. It was about a 2ft lady fish. I keep drifting and catch several whiting, croaker and spot. I had 1 shark bite me off and the wind was pushing me to the edge so i decided to go anchor on the hightide sharpnose hole. On the way to the sharpnose hole i saw what was likely a tarpon suck something off the surface. I Caught a decent sharpnose in about 5 minutes and left because it was windy and the tide was picking up. I saved the sharp nose and lady fish for shark bait.
