Caveman fishing 7/27

I took my nephew flounder gigging last Friday night. He said" Uncle Rick this is like caveman fishing." I told him I didn’t think caveman had deep cycle batteries and lights but other than that he was close. I pushed and he was up front. We saw several small ones to start off. He started seeing them pretty quick after I pointed a couple out. After he stuck about 3 he said " Uncle Rick I LIKE this caveman fishing. We had a great time and he is hooked. He lives in Augusta but he said he is ready to come at any time for some more caveman fishing. i showed him an app for his phone for the tides so now he’s calling and telling me when the tide will be right again. I love it.

Nice report, and nice fish. By the way, your feet look great (for a caveman)!

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

Looks like a good time, nice sheep, bet he is delicious

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

I agree with SFL…those sure are some purty toes for a caveman:smiley: Good job getting your nephew out there. Gigging has been one of may favorite things to do since I was a kid with an old Coleman white gas lantern and tin foil.

I’m not slurring my words…I’m simply speaking in cursive.

That’s what it’s all about right there - anytime you can get a kid hooked on fishing it’s a good thing.

I have to try this caveman gigging - never have been before, it’s on my bucket list for sure.

good killin there mr hardware.

The toes are Mrs Hardware’s. She’s a keeper too!

I’ve never gotten a black drum gigging before, although I love to eat them. Do you see them often where you gig?

Congrats on fun times! I’m sure he’ll have the bug now!
