Cayman Islands

Heading to Grand Cayman in Sept, anyone have any suggestions on fishing, etc…

CarolinaCrazyMan.

rent a car and drive the island. there are plenty of good flats on the island- away from 7mile. i think i had the best luck on the north bight, but there are fish all over on the incoming tides. some 20-30lb tarpons in the flats but mostly bones. small barely or unweighted flies such as Mcquades shrimp nailed em for us. if your there for a week or so, take the plane to little cayman and fish in the tarpon pond. one of the best fishing experiences available. id rent a car and drive NE along the island from 7mile and scout. the bones are small but lots of em, a 7wt is perfect, or the setup you use here for trout with a leader (NO swivel) of 12lb fluro and a wobble jig tipped with shrimp should get the nod! lemme know if i can help more…
also offshore charters are cheap there. i think i payed 500 for a successful Marlin trip…this is also one of the best Wahoo fisherys in the world
