After dropping poles and put out bait it was almost dark. not 2 minutes after anchoring and enjoying an ice cold beer before our first run of the poles, flipper starts eating our bait and chasing our shrimp! He disappeared after we started shrimping but it was a slow night. about 10-15 shrimp total per pass. basically ended up with a gallon bag headed. all were large though. zero smalls. picked up around 10:00. wind was a little heavy. Only saw two other boats. They must know something we don’t.
Question… Do you think flipper screwed us?

No flipper did not screw you. I wish we could put that question to rest.
We were at the crab bank as well last night… got 2/3 of a cooler on 12 passes. Size was great. Weather was nice. We had dolphins in our poles all night.
Yes flipper did screw both of you that shouldn’t even be a question. They destroy the bait and run the shrimp off.
It d a m n sure doesn’t help. Spot light them next time.
If it fly’s, floats, or, friggs, rent it!
Take a raddle trap on a rod next time they cant stand it and wouldn’t have believed it till I tried it and it works for sure!

My best day in bb was the friday after the great flood in BB and had flipper in my spread the whole time…go figure
It’s like saying I went deep holing but didn’t catch anything because there are dolphins in the water.
We all deal with them. The only place where dolphins haven’t ran my poles is Cherry Point. Maybe you should go there if you feel a dolphin free environment is key to getting a cooler full of shrimp.
