Looking to have a A5 shotgun barrel done in Flat dark earth. Anyone know of someone local in the Charleston area that can do it? Rather not ship it off if i don’t have to. Thanks Big Red.
No one in Charleston doing Cerakote anymore until January when I fire up my hydrodip tanks and cerakote oven.
Until then, if you like, I could Duracoat your barrel in FDE for you if you need. I’m in Charleston/West Ashley area.

Duracoat goes on a little thicker, and isn’t baked on. Durability is decent, but not incredible. I’ve got an AR that’s ran a few carbine courses and probably 15000 rounds that’s duracoated that still looks almost as good as when I applied it. But I also have a pistol slide that has some severe holster wear.
It’s great for parts that don’t get dragged across things repeatedly, like barrels and things of that nature.

Tom Siwarski (TNT Custom Camo, Monck Corner) doesn’t do Cerakote at this time. He does hydrodipping, and does a very good job at it.
Duracoat is a great finish if you are a DIY guy. I’ve done 10-12 guns in Duracoat over the years. Stay away from the Shake’N Spray kits, they do go on thick and run easily. Doesn’t give a great finish. I’ve gone to using an airbrush to apply it.
