I need a Certified Electronics Technician who knows what he’s doing! I need someone who can basically test/rewire/replace all components/wiring/switches.
I have the following on my boat, Sea Hunt 234 Ultra with Yamaha 250hp 300 hrs
Infinity Stereo with 6 JL Audio Speakers
Furuno 587 Depth Finder mounted on Dash with 1 KW Transducer
Garmin 741XS Chartplotter(One month Old) with XM Satellite
ICOM M604A VHF radio
I originally had the Garmin 740, but it fried up on me and I had to replace it. Once replaced by the dealer, all hell has broken loose with my electronics.
Lars sold his business about 6 months ago. That number will get you in contact with O SEA D Boatworks and they do great work.
Just got off the phone with Jody at O SEA D. Very nice guy. First availability is May 27, which is good. First impressions are important to me and he seemed very knowledgeable and professional. Sucks that I will be on the hill through the May dolphin run, but hopefully this will end my frustrations upon completion.
Thanks to Marsha, Fritz, and Sells for the referral to O SEA D
I did my electrical this winter myself. Hours and hours of running wire and butt connectors but the satisfaction of knowing what and where everything electrical on your boat goes is paramount. Of course I had to add a few additional electrical components such as deck lights and stereo;)
Jody from O SEA D completed the work yesterday 5-27. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with him. He sent me a text the night before confirming our appointment for yesterday at 930am. Unfortunately I had to be at work so I was not at home when he showed up. Yes, he came to my house to work on the boat. He called me three times during the day and kept me informed of what he was finding. He replaced my VHF antenna, which was not connected properly and was not getting enough power. Now I can talk to Japanese Whaling vessels! He updated the software to the latest version for my Garmin. Hopefully it won’t freeze up anymore. If it does, I’m gonna return the dam thing and upgrade to a Simrad. The NMEA 2000 T-connector was broken so he replaced that. He found that the refurbished XM Antenna the Dealer told me to get is bad, so I have to deal with that again! This may explain why I can’t even access XM on the Garmin anymore. He recommended a couple of fixes that would help out, but didn’t say it was causing any or creating any problems. Again, he was very professional and I felt really comfortable with him and his service. He was at my house for the better part of the day and he was extremely reasonable with his fee! Anyone needing ANY electronics work done should look no further than Jody with O SEA D! 843 729-5108.
Life is like a piece of doodoo…no matter if it sinks or floats…you always get flushed in the end
Oh yeah, he left this in the boat for me. If this wasnt in the boat, I could have never know he was there! He cleaned up EVERYTHING better than it was when he got in the boat.
I like hearing reports like that. Good to know there are still some professionals out there who take pride in their work. I’d bet he doesn’t need to advertise.
