CF oyster roast

ok everybody, if you piped up and said you were gonna bring something to the CF.com annual oyster roast at the Wappoo Shelter at James Island County Park Sat Jan 28, 2012 I have sent you a PM or email…thanks to all who are making this happen, it should be a really good event…remember, this is a family (and dog) friendly event and location so please bring both! Head count as of now stands around 60 people.
entry to the park will cost $1 but all the food and cooking service is being donated and done for free…we have the park from 9-4:30 and plan on the first oysters coming out around 11-11:30AM…there will be plenty of socializing, telling stories and hanging around to keep us busy all day long…
I apologize in advance for posting in multiple areas, but believe it or not there are some people on here who don’t stray far from 1 forum!
PM or email me at carl.hitchcock@crhippconstruction.com if you would like to donate some food, drink or otherwise…
Thanks in advance and I hope to see y’all there!
Carl

The fishing dock on the tidal creek is a great place to catch bluecrabs and bait shrimp. I’ve never caught or heard of anyone catching anything notable off the dock but it might be worth a try. The freshwater pond may have some small bass or bream in it and might be worth throwing a roostertail or small worm or something.

yea, there is a small freshwater pond right there at the shelter…bring your lightest rod and reel and see what’s out there! this is the biggest open air shelter at the park so there will be plenty of room for the kids, dogs and wives to run around and play…

of course…

The Morris Island Lighthouse www.savethelight.org

bonzo, yes i will be there. wife will not be in attendance, gray-faced dog may be. i will sign up accordingly…

i volunteer to get shells to recycling drop if needed… or anything else if i can bring it (short on firewood right now though). if timing works, i’m always happy to get muddy with a screwdriver in hand too- sounds like quite a few people are planning to pick, so i will await word on that.

DF- i’ll bring some little spinners, and your son can throw any of it he likes the looks of.

Sounds good, thanks Barbawang

Next to the rubber worm, a white Beetle Spin has caught me the most fresh water fish- bream, bass, trout! $.99 @ BPS and Walmart!
