I know there have been times in the past when the search function has/has not worked. Here is a little work around that may help.

Go to Google, then type something similar to what is below. The first word(s) is what you are looking for, the rest tells Google where to search.

grillage site:http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum

or

bonzo beer site:http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum

The search link visible above your login status above is really bad.
If you click the dropdown menu under Services above then pick Search, it uses the method xman describes above. Mucho better.
