I wish Spurrier would give up control and hire someone like Riley.
quote:Spurrier has called some horrible plays in goal line situations. He has for the past 3 years. I wish he would hire an offensive coach , too. He said he should have had P. Cooper lined up in the wild cat, more. He said the same thing after the Kentucky game. Well don't say it ...do it. Cooper is unstoppable back there.

Key West 1720 115 HP Johnson Saltwater.
Cooper in the wildcat was the best South Carolina looked the whole game.
Uhh, wut? Scott/Elliot just named co-OC’s.
I could have understood an interim decision such as this leading to a tryout type deal in the bowl. But i’m not sure how i feel about this as the final decision.

Wow. not sure how that can be good. The team needs 1 guy making the calls.
Co OC’s will be just fine for administrative purposes…
I doubt they will be seen on the sideline arguing over calls…
This isn’t their first waterfront job, for goodness sake…
Mercy…
I for one am pleased with the hire as of now. Both are former players from the school and both are very good recruiters and have proved to be very good coaches already. You can’t let either one get away and the staff pretty much stays the same. They will pick up where Morris left off and continue to build upon the foundation that was being built.

Insiders think Jeff Scott will call the plays solo but they gave Elliot the title to give him a pay raise and keep him here and on the recruiting trail. Those guys are such good recuiters that makes sense of that’s the case. Give Scott one year and if he can’t produce with watson, artavis Scott, gallman, mike Williams then he is ousted.
The one thing I could not determine from the announcement was whether this was just for the Bowl game or for the future…
I assumed it was just for the Bowl Game…
You can not have 2 OC’s on staff for a season…
That’s just me…
From what I hear it is permanent. And what Shevy said is what I hear. It is really a way to give raises and keep good people around.
I believe the cocks have two OC’s.
Ok…maybe it’s not a good idea.
They did try “play calling by committee” and that only resulted in slow play calling and many delay of games. But I don’t think they have 2 OC
Gamecocksonline.com. Could be wrong though.
