Change those water pump impellers!

From an '06 Suzuki 200 after only 232 hours.

I noticed the p-stream looked a little weak last season so I went ahead and got the kit and waited for a nice day to finally get here. It took me about 90 min. and <$40 in parts. Well worth the time and money.

Do it every year and keep out of the mud!
My DF 250’s both had small fractures along the top edge of the stainless steel liner. Liner does not come with the kit but are only $14 each.
I used 3-4 tiny drops of superglue to hold the nightmare of an oring in place.
When parked in the yard I keep a piece of blue masking tape over the pisser hole - keeps the mud wasps out.

Now to worry about where the chunks have settled…

I suspect lack of use is the reason for the deterioration and is why I’ll be selling this boat soon…we just don’t use it enough.

Was that the original impeller?

It only takes a few seconds of dry running to burn up those impellers.

To the best of my knowledge, yes it was.

That is true, but this one does not show signs of burning/melting.

mud sucks but sand is the DEVIL!

first year back in charleston after being away since 97 and apparently the sandbar (uber shallow water) around fort sumter had shifted. thought I was super clear of it and WHAM!! 30mph down to 0 in an instant lol. took a minute to get out and the p-stream was next to nothing. had to limp home and changed it ugh. sand was still in there, had to blow the passages out with forced water to get it all out.

in retrospect I really need to learn how to read those depth charts you can get from hadderals lol
