Got up this Am and the stars were shinning I was hopeing for overcast and rain! picked up my crew and decided to go to Clark Hill instead of Murry. Got to Parksville at daylight and launched the boat, before we reached the main lake the fog rolled in! It was thick as pea soup till 12:45 then lifted and sun came out and temp went to 80! at 2: 30 it clouded up and spit rain. Found one school of small (12") stripers on top. Left and found some hybreds up and caught a few 3# fish. then the bottom fell out and my crew wanted to go home so we left soaking wet and fish schooling.
I fished Murray this morning. Fished Ballentine and Beards creek area. A lot of shorts. 19 and 20 inches. Most of the action was in the mouth of Beards 50 feet down in 70 feet of water. There was a nice low cloud cover (or high fog) up until about 11:00. With those conditions I was hoping for some topwater action but they never presented.
I put in back in Ballentine on Monday evening with nothing but a couple of rods with top water plugs on them. Rode around a little over an hour in Ballentine, Bear Creek and then over to Beaverdam and never saw a thing on top.

You know when you are fishing one lake and dont seem to do well you wonder if you should have gone somewere else! Thanks for the reports.
It seams this time of the year you need to stay daylight to dark and do a lot of moveing the fish sre going to school some time some where!
They have to fill up for winter, its natures way!
