I have searched but can’t really find anything, but are there any shops that sell herring or shad on the chapin side? Hilton, Dreher area? I see the gas station on wessinger road/76 has bait advertised but always looks closed. Any help is appreciated.
Only place on that side that will have bait consistently is midlands outdoors in prosperity (closed on sundays)
Herring has been super tough lately and when its like this, George (Macedonia ch rd) usually doesnt have any…if George doesnt have it then the station by the dreher island entrance wont have any either.
Riverwinds has bait consistently but that is getting way up the lake (391 area)
The wessinger shop tends to have bait when its easy to catch on Murray. (Spring/early summer) they will have some in the winter but like you said i rarely see them open…
The herring is mainly coming from Russel right now and its not easy…
Gizzards are easy and are stocked up good at midlands, neds, and riverwinds
