Hey everyone, as ya’ll may know I am working with Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission to put on a tournament coinciding with the East Coast Canoe and Kayak festival next year. Nothing is definate yet but if this does happen, I intend to make this a charity event. $20 of your entry fee will be given to a charity. May not sound like a lot but if we have even the turn out that Haddrells had, thats almost $500. I am hoping for more participants due to the potiential for out of towners because of the festival. The question I pose to you as the Charleston Yak Anglers is which charity? I am leaning towards something like MUSC childerens hospital or something similar. Any sugestions. We need to make this decision as a club.
I beg you sir, please do this any other weekend than the festival. (I have to work the festival every year and wouldn’t be able to fish it!) I also see folks from the site out at the festival, and I know lots of us wouldn’t be able to do both.

If this one goes well, I’m sure I can put together another in the fall, however, I need to do this one to make the contacts so I may free lance other events. Can you not get off that weekend?
Thats why they call it fishing, not catching
your talking about 20 dollars of the entry fee to charity so how much is this entry fee. 2nd what we talking about prizes and payouts. 3 charity make a wish is always great

when is the east coast canoe and kayak festival?
Patrick, these are details that are still in the works but ya’ll will know as soon as I do. The festival is April 20-22 of next year. I thought about make a wish foundation but thought it would be nice to give to a local charity and maybe help out some of our neighbors here in the low country. If ya’ll really want make a wish though we can do that.
