Riding with friend on his first offshore outing in new boat. Netted some live menhaden at Ft. Sumpter.
Ran out to Chas 60 and hook up three poles with live menhaden and start slowing moving to the reef. Arrive @ 11am. Reel starts to sing at about 11:30 and fight on.
Landed a nice 20 lb. Plus King Mackerel. Noticed two or three other boats trolling around the reef. 26kts going out. Washboard on return. Seas 2-3 out 3+ on way in.
Did see a flying fish inshore of the reef about 1 mile. No other bites or signs of fish.
Great outing and nice to be back on the ocean, even for a short day.
