On the way out to the 60 about a mile out of the jetties we saw about a 12 foot hammerhead and we could not get him to eat anything. At the 60 we caught a 30 inch king and missed another big one. Came in around 3 and caught some small dogfish.

WOW, a 12 footer! Now that’s what I’m looking for. I’ll be down next weekend, weather permitting.

yea, but we didnt have any live bait and i think that is what he was in the market for… the only bait he went for was when i hooked a ballyhoo onto a small spining rod that i casted towards him to attract him to my 114 and he swam right by it.

I’d give it 8 seconds to be spooled. Would be fun for that amount of time anyway. It seems you always get to see something east of the harbor.

nope, at least a little longer cause we were in 35 feet of water and with my friend at the controls and 50 pound test, we would of been trying to tire him down all day and he couldnt of gone too deep.

Did he look something like this? (scroll down)
