Thought about driving down for the NC trout program tonight, but wanted to get some feed back before I spent 1 1/2 hours driving. Have any of you fly flingers attended their programs before and are they informative enough to warrant the drive down? Thanks
Call the guys at the Mount Pleasant store. If possible I would ask for Mike he will tell ya the scoop if hes working. Tell him your situation and see what they think.

■■■■, wish this had been a few weeks ago, BEFORE I went up there to fish… Probably some good info will be shared. I went in the angler before my trip and they set me up with everything except egg pattern flies. Should have purchased waders and booties here in town but I needed to find out the hard way that you cant wade in Crocs and shorts this time of year up there.
He took the bait like a jugbelly redfish on an olive and white clouser.
Mountain men can wade by april wet. However crocs = BRUISED ANKLES.
I am moving to charleston next month cause I love redfishing, but I have fished these mountains for 18 years. If you fish freestones you need a fanny pack, a lanyard, GOOD wading boots, neoprene booties, and some shorts that dry quickly so you don’t get swamp crotch. Stay light, the cheesy vests you see in the orvis catalog = a sore ass back. Nets are next to NEVER needed on freestoners, I carry one when I fish tailwaters. If you get good you can turn even a large trout upsidedown and he will go still. It would be nice to have a net when you hook a 16" freestone trout but that happens in wild waters so rarely that it aint worth the hassle.
