Charleston local information

Not a Charleston resident but a regular visitor with an expanded presence in the not-too-distant future. Shopping for a new Pathfinder bay boat at Barrier Island Marine south of town on Savannah Highway. The sales guy is George Pope. Here are a few questions:

  1. What is Barrier Island Marine’s reputation for fair dealing during the sale and competent service thereafter?

  2. Pathfinder does not offer a factory bimini top. Who is the finest marine canvas shop in the Charleston area?

  3. For inshore cruising on the Ashley River and behind the barrier islands, where are the most convenient public launch ramps for a trailer boater?

All comments and replies are welcome.

I have limited experience but do have a buddy that bought a new 18 hewes a few years ago. He really wanted to buy from there but they couldn’t even get close the price he was being offered from Tailwalker up in G’town. Hopefully they’ve become more competitive with their pricing since then. Do your homework
