I am doing some research on kayaking to the nearshore reefs and found an old thread from August of 2008, with some of our old salts (Too Busy, Nikonjedi, etc) talking about doing a paddle trip to the Charleston Nearshore Reef…did that trip ever happen? I didn’t find a follow-up post about it.
No
I did the math, looked at the weather, and tides. It just wasn’t a good idea for a paddle trip. 4+ miles each way from the jetties, too many things that could go wrong without having a buddy boat.
If you want to think about doing it as a small group, we could consider it this spring.

I also considered this but, with my sail rig.

I am planning my list of things to do for 2013, and a nearshore reef trip is something I’d like to do. Charleston Nearshore or perhaps Edisto Nearshore. I think I can get a friend to tag along with his boat…
I will sail out there with you guys, cuz we all know I’m crazy!! LOL Seriously, if there is any interest, let me know, I’ll get some amas setup and we’ll go.

Gonna save this one for warmer weather…and also after bsb season reopens.
Keep me informed. Still gonna work on some sailing amas.

Henry, I’ve got your Hobie Ama’s here at the store, do you still want them?

Yes sir. If you ordered them, I will pick them up, or rather, bring the yak to you for the installation. I did call the other day, and spoke to the other fellow, who said you were out Dave. I’m tired of having adventures in the cold water. LOL How about Saturday am I come buy with my yak?
Not sure if I would join in my kayak, but I would tag along in my cc and I’m pretty sure a few others would as well.
I’d rather go in a cc, if you have one and have room, please let me know. I’ll chip in for beer and gas as well.
