Charleston Nearshore Reef

Is anyone having any luck at the CHS Nearshore Reef? I’ve heard some rumblings about Sheepshead out there.

Any comments on which structure is best in that location?

Thank you

Should be some sheeps, black drum, and weakfish hanging around that area right now. The majority of the sheeps will probably be small to mid-size fish there right now, but the action should be decent if you can get anchored up on the edge of a good piece of structure. Fiddlers are about as good as anything for the sheeps and drum, DOA shrimp, Zman baits, gulps, etc will all work for the weaks. Bump up to about a 1/2oz jighead on your plastics to get to the bottom easier.Still a good chance of finding some nice flounder there if you can get a mud minnow down to the bottom on the up-current side of the strucutre. good luck!

Thank you very much, Scott!

Water temps are low already, about right for black drum at the NearShore. Caught some nice ones last Dec there, 6 - 9 lbs. A big black drum would hit one little fiddler, but they love shrimp, man. Only caught rat reds Sunday at the N. Jetty, west end.
