This may be the 1st confirmed Snook ROD & REEL catch in Charleston. At least first that i have seen. Caught about a month ago. …Of course i wont tell you the spot but i confirm it is in Charleston.
Very cool to see and hope we can build a population of them in the area.
That would be A welcome addition to the fishery. Hopefully we get more global warming.
That would be awesome if we could establish a viable Snook fishery here in SC. I personally think the cold winters are too much for them but I’d be glad to be wrong about that. Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately not the first I’ve seen reported by rod and reel. Seen a few posts about Snook being caught in the Wando. But definitely an awesome catch and a welcomed addition. I highly doubt our cold winter waters will sustain these fish and I feel they will be seasonal, just like our Jacks, Pompano, Tarpon and others. Still, that had to be an awesome surprise.

This one was caught in October in one of our club fishing tournaments.
A while back, a photo was posted with one caught at the jetties. It’s great they’re around even if rare.
